NSPCC Charity Golf Day at Brocton Hall Golf Club, Stafford

Despite a hectic workload, the McAuliffe team still found time-out to take part in the annual NSPCC Charity Golf Day at Brocton Hall in Stafford.

Organised by Simon Hake of Wardell Armstrong, the day has in the past proven to be an excellent and thoroughly enjoyable day, and this year was no exception.

The McAuliffe line-up (as pictured, above), consisting of Tim Pearce, Guy Scott (Ironstone Developer Group), John McAuliffe and Tim Brickley (Persimmon Homes) was a formidable team that planned to take the day by storm.

However, after negotiating a few tricky holes and spending considerable time in the course bunkers, the team were happy to settle for mid-placed obscurity and let others take the glory.  A very admirable stance considering their intentions at the start of the days play!

Tim pearce, technical manager at McAuliffe said, "It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and we were delighted to be part of the event for the third consecutive year.

"However, if I had known we would be spending most of our time in the course bunkers, I would probably have brought my flip flops and beach towel rather than my golf shoes.  But today is not about winning or loosing, it's about raising money for a very worthwhile charity."

The four ball tournament was well attended by some of the regions well known construction professionals and raised over £5,000 for the NSPCC.

The event was capped off with the "David Edwards Trick Shot Show" followed by an evenings entertainment where the teams could sit back and relax whilst being ridiculed by David as he showed them video footage and commentary of the days play.

McAuliffe would like to say a huge thank you to Simon Hake and all the staff at Brocton Hall who made the day both memorable and rewarding.

Practice for next year has already begun!
