Current Vacancies

We’re looking for an Assistant Surveyor to join our Technology and Engineering Team for a year-out placement.

You’ll report to our Technology and Engineering Manager, assisting the team with the production of 3D engineering models/volumetric drawings, together with onsite activities that include surveying and gathering surveying data.

The role will be largely based out of our Hale office in Greater Manchester, but will also include regular site activities as detailed below.

You will receive full training and mentoring in all aspects of what you will be required to do.

Key Accountabilities

  • Using AutoCAD and n4ce to produce 3D models and volumetric drawings from client supplied design information and survey data from our surveying equipment. Primarily related to large plc housing developments
  • Using Topcon GPS equipment on operational sites to carry out basic level checking, surveying, and setting out as required
  • Gathering survey data from onsite machine control GPS equipment and preparing it for use in volume calculations and as built drawings
  • Other ad hoc site duties which may extend to assisting engineers carry out environmental and geotechnical soil testing on site and producing reports

Required Training and Certification

  • Competent Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of CAD (desirable but not essential)
  • IT skills
  • 3 A levels (or equivalent) including Maths A-level
  • Full UK driving Licence
  • Suited to built environment undergraduate courses such as Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering management and Environmental Science

Schedule

  • Full-time (37.5hrs per week) out of McAuliffe’s office in Hale, Greater Manchester
