McAuliffe has started work on Birmingham’s 13.3ha former Yardley Sewage Works site, ready for the creation of nearly 300 affordable homes.

The team is carrying out a programme of complex soil remediation and re-engineering of soils to create a suitable development platform, with a phased site handover to support the follow-on build.

Client, Morro Partnerships, and housing association, Midland Heart are set to start construction of the 298 homes before the end of the year. WMCA and Birmingham City Council have both invested in the scheme, with 150 homes to be allocated to social rent.

John McAuliffe, Group CEO at McAuliffe Group, said: “We’re happy to be involved in yet another important Birmingham project, which will create much-needed affordable housing in on land which had sat unused for more than 50 years.”
