Over 40 people attended the former MG works to learn about the challenges and opportunities associated with remediating land with complex ground conditions – with a focus on the government’s ‘brownfield first’ agenda and increased home building targets.
This included hearing from our technical lead, James Cartwright, as part of a panel discussion, before taking a tour of the site to see McAuliffe’s team in action.
McAuliffe is carrying out asbestos removal works, extensive slab lift, and cut & fill earthworks over a 50-week programme on this 20ha site.
The final development will see 700 new homes developed by Vistry. More than 40% of these will be offered as affordable tenures, helping to address the severe shortage of affordable homes in Birmingham.
