McAuliffe Goes from Strength to Strength

Civil engineering and environmental contractor McAuliffe Group is marking its expansion into the North West with the senior level appointment of Adam Czarnecki as group board director.

Adam is a Chartered Geologist and Geotechnical Engineer and brings over 25 years experience as a specialist in bringing forward derelict and brownfield sites for development.

The appointment is part of the Group’s plans to strengthen its position as the leading brownfield contractor in the Midlands, by enhancing its in-house remediation capabilities as well as increasing its geographical coverage with the launch of a new North West office in Hale, Cheshire

McAuliffe celebrates its 40th anniversary this year as a specialist environmental contractor delivering solutions for its clients at land acquisition and build-out stages in brownfield site transformation.

John McAuliffe, managing director of McAuliffe Group, says “The appointment and opening of the new office follows a period of managed consolidation by the business in response to market conditions, which has put us in a strong financial position to now invest and respond to increased demand from our clients.

He said: “McAuliffe’s North West client base has established itself over the last six years - the opening of our new office will allow us not only to strengthen and improve our levels of service to our existing customers, but also to re-kindle and build new relationships with house builders, geo-environmental consultants and commercial developers in the region.

“Adam’s experience is a significant part of our future business plan to ensure we remain at the forefront of our sector, as well as enhancing McAuliffe’s capabilities and services offered.”

His appointment will see McAuliffe introducing further innovation to its range of on-site soil and groundwater technologies to minimise remediation and other abnormal construction costs, enabling clients to successfully develop their existing and future land opportunities.

Adam Czarnecki said: “The industrial past of the North West region means most of development land is brownfield, with varying levels of geotechnical and contamination issues to resolve.

“Equally, the increasing legislative burden and annual landfill tax hikes will continue to put pressure on the construction industry to eliminate off-site disposal to landfill and work closer with companies such as ourselves to find more innovative ways of developing sites.

“McAuliffe has an enviable reputation for delivering practical solutions built up over the last 40 years in the reclamation and remediation of blighted land and I look forward to further developing our capabilities over the coming months and years."

With an unrivalled history in the contaminated land sector, McAuliffe is recognised for its trusted know-how in the application of integrated solutions including demolition, remediation, earthworks and haulage.
